It’s what we do.

We give a voice to HCDE undergraduates. Our weekly meetings are open to anyone, and offer a forum for students to voice their opinions and concerns. Stop by any time between 1:30 and 2:30 pm on Wednesdays in the HCDE Student Lounge on the fourth floor of Sieg to hear our latest goings-on and contribute to our exciting futures in the HCDE department. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Get involved! Check out upcoming events.

The 2019-2020 HCDE Student Association officers

It’s who we are.

Our passion drives us. We care about our community, and we care about affecting positive change. Led by elected officers, we represent our undergraduates, not ourselves.

Meet your officers.

Elected each year by students in HCDE, your officers form a welcoming team that strives to represent the interests of HCDE undergraduates.

Griffen Schwiesow

President Griffen Schwiesow

Currently a senior in HCDE, I joined the Student Association as a way to connect with my community and contribute to the department. My passions lie in accessibility and design, so I strive to create beautiful things that everyone can consume.

Karishma Patel

Vice President Karishma Patel

Entering my senior year, I want to help fellow peers build a strong community within the department. My hope is to provide engaging opportunities for students, faculty, and alumni to connect and bring new ideas to the table that expand our department’s presence on campus. Feel free to reach out if you want to chat about anything – I love dogs, coffee, and playing sports!

M. Nicole Washington

Secretary M. Nicole Washington

As a senior in HCDE and techie with a knack for humanities, my skill set is representative of the interdiciplinary background I've developed. If you need me, you can always find me in the student lounge. I'm down to chat about video games, design, or anything else!

Josepha Decena

Treasurer Joseph Decena

As a senior in HCDE, I joined the HCDEsa as a treasurer because I noticed how broke the department is (no money = no fun). This year, I hope to not only meet more awesome HCDE students but to help bring in more fun activities for this year!

Ivy Kehoe

Community Outreach Ivy Kehoe

As a 3-year veteran HCDEsa member, I’m excited to see where the new year will take our department! Hit me up if you want to chat about the HCDE department, HCI research, physical prototyping, wine, or anything else 🙂

Vishaka Nirmal

Cohort Liaison Vishaka Nirmal

Heading into my third year, I wanted to get more involved with HCDE and connecting people in our department. Some of my interests outside of HCDE lie in leadership, animation, and dogs!
